Hidden away on a scenic mountain top in Mykonos is the remnants of a small uninhabited village consisting of several dwellings. Ancient homes perch on the rocks with majestic views overlooking the island’s familiar blue and white scenery now blanketed in emerald green from winter rains.

As I wandered through this maze of family homes, pathways and animal shelters, my thoughts couldn’t help but wonder who these ancient people were that lived, worked, suffered, loved and experienced life on this mountain high above the sea. One could almost hear the voices of long past inhabitants echoing in the wind.

A place where time stands still and encapsulates a moment from Mykonos past.
